Chikoo & Dates Smoothie

This nutritious blended drink made from Date, Chikoo (Sapota), a few Almonds and a scoop of vanilla icecream, is a wholesome meal in itself. It’s very filling, so pairing up with any other food is not required. There’s no harm in calling this glass of smoothie, a satisfying one dish meal. 

This smoothie meal is also a great way to develop an extra love for this high fibre and anti oxidant rich fruit from a few non-admirers of this fruit, one at my home. 

Adding dates increases the natural sweetness and a scoop of icecream enhances the flavor. I added a handful of soaked almonds for that extra crunch. 

Chikoo | Sapota | Sapodilla is one of my favorite summer fruit. It’s readily available in almost all Indian grocery stores all over United States. 


  • 1cup fresh chikoos (sapota), sliced
  • 1/2 cup dates, spitted
  •  2 scoops vanilla icecream(any of your choice) 
  • 4-5 overnight soaked almonds
  • 1/4 cup whole milk
  • 1/4 cup ice cubes


Blend all the ingredients in a blender until the smoothie is of a consistency that you desire.
